Otate Ruins

Otate Ruins

This residence was originally built for Uesugi Norimasa, and later became the stage for the Otate Rebellion – a succession war between Kagekatsu and Kagetora after Lord Kenshin’s death.

Samegao Castle Ruins

A defensive satellite castle of Kasugayama. It is historically known as the final resting place of Kagetora Uesugi after the Otate Rebellion.

Shofukuji Temple

Located near the Samegao Castle Ruins, this temple houses memorials to Kagetora Uesugi, who perished in the Otate Rebellion.
